The Problem

There is a need for different parties to co-operate effectively to make the climate finance supply chain work. Blended finance solutions need to be created in numbers and at speed. This need is not being met.

COMMERCIAL INVESTOR WHO WORKED WITH A DIRECT FINANCE INITIATIVE (DFI):
"Language, meaning cultural/business language, comprehension is vital.

Development banks are often not driven by the same issues and concerns as institutional investors. The opposite is also true. Once we speak each other’s language, progress is much faster."

The Solution

More personal relationships at the right levels are crucial in accelerating the development of blended finance solutions. Building a wider and deeper mutual understanding between the different stakeholders of their agendas, constraints, risk appetites and ways of working is key.

The fastest way to achieve this is for people to spend time in organisations other than their own, in a structured way.

This can be delivered via an institution-to-institution secondment/exchange scheme.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Take our pilot

survey

The first stage of the pilot programme is a market survey which you can access here. The focus of this survey is to take the temperature of the climate & blended finance ecosystem. We will use the results to tailor the pilot secondment scheme and subsequently the full program to the areas most in demand.
